Aimee Olivo, a mom and community activist, is proud to stand as a candidate for school board representative in the fourth district because she believes every child in Prince George's County deserves an excellent education. Aimee and her husband, Abel, chose to purchase their home in Prince George’s County in 2004 because they sought a diverse, community-oriented neighborhood in which they could raise a family.
A community leader, Aimee is active in many civic organizations. She helped found and is currently a co-chair of Cheverly Advocates for Public Schools, an organization which seeks to support Cheverly’s public schools and encourages families to consider them as excellent educational options for their children. Aimee is the former co-chair of Progressive Cheverly and is a member of the Cheverly Parent Resource Center. She is also a member of the Prince George’s County Young Democrats and was proud to participate in the Envision Prince George’s Town Hall meeting and community action team for the Top Notch School District goal.
The Olivo family attends St. Ambrose church, where Aimee initiated a Children’s Liturgy program to engage the young children of the parish. Aimee attended public schools from kindergarten through high school and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College (now Trinity University) in Washington, DC. She earned her master of business administration, while working full-time, from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Aimee is proud to be endorsed by the editorial board of The Gazette, who wrote, "Her parent-friendly approach would be critical to improving community ties. Olivo is sure to bring new energy and ideas to District 4." |
